Sword Knights

I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. I stuck pretty much with the standard Cygnar scheme here, as the sword knights were always one of my favorite looking units. I did struggle a little bit with the P3 Rhulic Gold paint - it seems to want to dry fast and leave clumps of metallic flake behind. I learned quickly that it needs to go on in several thin coats to look good. This project was also my first time experimenting with acrylic matte medium to thin paint (vs. water) and using a slow-dry blending medium. The sword knights are mostly metallics and washes, so I didn't get to use the blending medium all that much, but I did try it out on the cloth parts, and it seems to help out a lot.
Last week Privateer showed off the models for the upcoming Horgenhold Forge Guard, which convinced me to build an all Rhulic army. I'm looking forward to reading the preview in No Quarter next month. Too bad I have to wait for July for the models.
Oh yeah - 130 day until PAX.
